Russian and Chinese specialists went on an expedition on transboundary rivers and Razdolnaya Sungach to assess their ecological status, according to a coastal management for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Primgidromet).
The annual survey of transboundary rivers in Primorye is for four years. The monitoring carried out expeditions for sampling and hydrological measurements on the river at the site of Razdolnaya Sanchagou — Poltavka and Lake Hanka — at the source of the river at the site of Sungacha Lunvanmyao — Novomihaylovka.
"Experts Primgidrometa jointly with specialists of environmental Mudanjiang and Jixi (China) will conduct expeditions to the two rivers of Primorye Territory. During the monitoring will be sampled and held related hydrological measurements," — said in a statement.
According to management, the parties will exchange encrypted samples to determine their nitrate, permanganate oxidation, mercury, arsenic and manganese. This is done in order to determine the quality of the measurements made at the same time and in the laboratories of the PRC, and in laboratories Primgidrometa. Then experts will exchange data.
"Joint monitoring the transboundary sections of streams are important. They provide not only systematic, but both parties agreed about the water quality of transboundary water bodies", — stated in the release.
According to the environmentalists, pollution of transboundary rivers in the actual conditions of intense economic activity of the population and industry of China. According to published reports, only Heilongjiang Province, bordering on the Amur Region, Khabarovsk Territory and the Primorye discharged into watercourses Amur basin more than 11 billion of untreated industrial and domestic wastewater.
