- Aviation Materials and TSAGI signed a collaborative research program
Today, April 25, the signing of the Comprehensive Program of joint research of the Central hydrodynamic Institute named after professor NE Zhukovsky (TsAGI) and the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (Aviation Materials) in the field of advanced materials and structural components of aircraft.
Program approved CEO of Aviation Materials, Academician Evgeny Kablov and CEO of TsAGI, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris S. Aleshin. The signing ceremony was held at the Aviation Materials.
The document defines the specific areas of promising joint projects in the following areas: the use of aluminum-lithium alloys and layered alyumostekloplastikov in the design of aircraft, development, research and application of polymer composite materials for a new generation of heavy-duty aircraft components, joint research in the framework of the international project "POLarBEAR" and international program HORIZON-2020.
According to Eugene Kablov, "in the program main directions in the collaborative work between the two leading research institutes of the aviation industry, the implementation of which will form the advanced technological advance for the competitiveness of Russian aircraft in the world market."
"The signing of the joint research program between the Aviation Materials and TsAGI is a landmark event that will fully implement one of the basic principles in the development of new materials of new generation — the continuity of materials, technologies and designs," — he said. According to Eugene Kablova, one of the major objectives of the program is to develop technology monitoring of large aircraft panels of fiber polymer composites embedded control systems, including after the impact. "It is necessary to improve the safety of operation of particular elements of the loaded polymer composites," — he stressed.
