This was announced at the Forum "Transport science: innovative solutions for business" Deputy General Director of JSC "VNIIZhT" Oleg Nazarov.
This development will help to solve the problem of gas contamination tunnels, threatening the health of railway workers and other workers operating data structures, because the only departure of the locomotive is distilled water.
The introduction of such gas locomotives enable to replace 50% of the diesel fuel with natural gas. At the same time be able to save up to 25% of the cost of purchasing diesel fuel. And the environmental characteristics of the rolling stock will improve by half.
At the same time, work is continuing on the design of gas turbine engines for locomotives. Promising locomotive with engine will have high efficiency. It will not be cooling and lubrication, so the cost of its maintenance and repair will be minimal. Power of the new engine will be 3500 kW.
In addition, the scientists of "VNIIZhT" developed ozone-friendly refrigerants for air conditioning systems in passenger cars. Their advantage is that they do not contain any harmful exchangers. According to Oleg Nazarov, an equally important goal — to reduce the consumption of asbestos products in the industry. For these purposes will be introduced more secure electrical insulation materials.
Among them, the new material is Graflex possessing chemical inertness and environmental safety. It also has a low coefficient of friction (0.02-0.12) and high thermal conductivity, has good adaptability to uneven surfaces mating with him.
Innovation has some good indicators of compressibility (20-60%), and after removal of the load is able to recover its original shape by 70%. These characteristics allow wide use of this insulating material on the rail network.
