5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Alaska

Earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred in the Aleutian Islands off Alaska, today announced the U.S. Geological Survey National.

The epicenter of earthquake was registered in 1678 miles west of Anchorage (Alaska) and 2430 km from the city of Whitehorse (Canada). The earthquake lies at a depth of 34.7 km. Information about its effects has yet been received, the ITAR-TASS news agency.
