For the first time in Russia mastered the new technology of welding large diameter pipes for nuclear power plants

Petrozavodsk company of "AtomEnergoMash» — «Petrozavodskmash" — has mastered the new industrial technology of electroslag welding of large diameter pipes to the main circulation pipeline (MCP) nuclear power plant. Electroslag welding technology certified, technical conditions for it were approved RTN.

Until recently, the Russian machine builders bought imported billets for pipes of MTC, as Russia was not the manufacturers of such products.

"This project was made possible thanks to the enterprise cluster Atomenergomash. Production of pipes of the primary circuit of MTC will be organized to "Energomashspetsstal" and "Petrozavodskmash," — said the chief welder factory "Petrozavodskmash" Vitaly Nikolaev. — The first stage — the production of forged blanks to "Energomashspetsstal." The second — the application of corrosion-resistant coating on the "Petrozavodskmash."

Project to introduce deposition on pipes at Petrozavodskmash MTC started two years ago. Welding was carried out two pilot-house pipes, and also a large set of tests. The work went under the guidance of the head of materials science company — JSC NPO "TSNIITMASH" (also included in AtomEnergoMash).

"Production clad pipes MTC Atomenergomash in enterprises and in particular the performance of surfacing at Petrozavodskmash will reduce the cost of pipes and improving their quality," — said the director of the management of industrial complex "Atomenergomash" Vladimir Razin.
