Our homeland and Israel signed an agreement on joint naikrupneyshy production drones

Russia and Israel signed a major contract for joint production of dronesIsraeli drones will gather in Tatarstan. Between now Israel Aerospace Industries and the "Oboronprom" signed a long contract worth about 400 million dollars. According to statements of the Israelis, the joint venture will build vehicles only civilian purpose. But there is no hesitation that the main customer vehicles will be the Defense Ministry.

The agreement signed by the general director of "OPK" Oboronprom "Andrey Reus and president — IAI CEO Itzhak Nissan. The agreement was signed during the official visit to Israel, the delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, headed by Minister Viktor Khristenko said in a press release, "Oboronprom".

"The main goal of our project is to develop a RF Competency Center production of unmanned aerial vehicles world-class. In collaboration with one of the recognized favorites in this area — the company IAI — we look forward to a very short time to become a real player in this market, "- quoted in the press release, the words Reus.

Kazan selected the location of the new venture far not the case. In 1-x, the city is one of the largest centers in Russia aviation industry, and in-2, there placed the company "Enix" engaged in the creation of target drones for air defense exercise settlement type l2m and E95M (jet, different type of engine, simulate flying cruise missiles and UAVs) and E08 (piston engine simulates the small size aerial targets). In addition, the company manufactures a range of civilian UAV mission, some models have been tested in law enforcement agencies such as the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As can be seen, in the town there are personnel who understand the issues in the design and production of drones.

# {Weapon} According to the Israeli newspaper Globes, the contract is for enough hard currency criteria. For example, 70% of the amount discussed Russian side will pay in advance to receive the first aircraft. Instead Israeli Concern provide "Oboronprom" bank guarantees for part of the purchased amount. The remaining 30% will be paid in installments in accordance with the ordered machines and services.

Remember, this is not the first contract regarding Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Back in April 2009, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the purchase of light vehicles in Israel and the middle-class production IAI — lightweight portable set of mini-UAV Bird-Eye 400 (take-off weight — 5 kg, the radius of the act — 10 km), tactical I-View MK150 ( respectively 160 kg and 100 km) and moderate class UAV Searcher Mk II (426 kg and 250 km). Sum of the first transaction was $ 50 million.

Assessing the agreement, some experts expressed surprise choice of products to buy — in their words, drones and light middle class somehow, but designed and executed Russian companies. In this regard, was born the view that the Ministry of Defence does not purchase what he wants, and what is on offer. And the main role in this, according to experts at, played by the U.S., to make every effort to derail the deal, and when it was not possible — at least change its nomenclature.

In December of the same year, the Israeli defense sources denied hosted by Reuters informed of the intention of the Russian Federation to put a large shipment of UAVs cost of 100 million dollars.

In April 2010, there was information about the initiative of the creation in Russia of a joint venture for the production of UAV. In June, Israeli media said that during the construction of a plant in Russia concern IAI will receive 300 million euros, but it soon became clear that the Israeli government vetoed the deal.

But there is no smoke without fire, and such negotiations are, of course, were conducted. The media only a few hurried with the announcement leaked disk imaging. Such denial is fully in the spirit of the Israeli side, preferring not to advertise to term even completely legitimate military deal. By the way, this is a common feature of the behavior of Israeli entrepreneurs concerning not only the defense industry.

That sanctuary has become apparent, it took a visit of Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, held in September 2010, during which it was concluded a bilateral agreement on military-technical cooperation. During the meeting with Ehud Barak, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin raised the issue of cooperation in the field of UAV.

Although some range UAV that will be performed in Russia, are not reported, the amount of the contract leads to some speculation. It's no secret that the Russian side has shown great enthusiasm for apparatus languid class, including the ability to carry and use a controlled weapon. The product range of IAI there is only one such device — Heron. It's a harsh machine, weighing more than a ton of flight (including 250 kg payload) that can stay in the air up to 2-day, and to conduct exploration at depths of up to 500 km. Virtually no target designation systems that are compatible with Western weapons systems and incompatible with the Russian, this is purely civilian apparatus, of which will not give any MOE, the Ministry of Forestry of any or a bunch of other civilian agencies, which comes puzzle monitoring of broad (and often inaccessible) areas. But, as though what a difficult apparatus, is the technique of double predestination. In the end, no one bothers to put the gun or missile system, multiple rocket launchers (MRL) for commercial truck chassis, even those countries that are opposed by the arms embargo. Especially since no one will disturb equip Israeli UAV systems motivated Russian military mission or hang it as needed a couple of guided missiles.
