Seaplane Be-200 will be certified in the U.S.
Russia has applied for certification of amphibious aircraft Be-200 standards of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) dollars. On this, as reported , First Deputy General Director of the Taganrog Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex named after Beriev Nikolai Lavrov said. According to him, the certification will allow Russia to supply aircraft Be-200 to the U.S. market.
In May 2010, Russia and the U.S. signed a contract to supply ten aircraft Be-200 version for fighting forest fires. "The signed contract will come into effect, and the first payments will follow only after the Be-200 will be certified according to the norms and requirements of the FAA", — told the laurels.
The Be-200 can carry up to 12 cubic meters of water and fly at speeds of up to 610 kilometers per hour. Airplane flight range of up to 3.1 thousand kilometers. The aircraft design provides for its operation on the ground as airfields, and in bodies of water with wave heights up to 1.2 meters. The Be-200 can also be used to transport troops, conduct search and rescue operations and patrols.
