Russian state corporation "Russian Technologies" has sent a proposal to the Government of Belarus to unite "Kamaz" and Minsk Automobile Plant. This is today the president of "Russian Technologies" Chemezov, RIA-Novosti reported.
According to the proposed scheme after the business combination Russian company will become a 100 percent owner "MAZ", while the Belarusian authorities would have access to only a certain stake in Kama Automobile Plant. According Chemezov, it is even "is unlikely to be a blocking stake", but the exact percentage can be name only after evaluating "MAZ" the Russian side.
Currently, the Minsk Automobile Plant is a state enterprise. It is production of trucks, chassis, trailers and buses. In turn, nearly half of the company "KAMAZ" (49.9%) belongs to the state corporation "Russian Technologies", another 27.3% — the company "Troika Dialog". In addition, shareholders are the Kama Automobile Plant Daimler (11%) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (4%).
Meanwhile "KamAZ" in recent years, experiencing some problems. If in 2008 the plant sold 47.5 thousand cars in 2009 and 2010 — less than 30,000 per year. In 2009, the plant suspended production of 9 times, in August 2010, production was suspended for a month.
