Ash from the volcano in Kamchatka Tolbachik fell in the village Kozyrevsk

Ash falls took place in the village of Ust-Kamchatsky Kozyrevsk area the eruption Flat Tolbachik, reports the Kamchatka Branch of the Geophysical Service RAS.

Flat Tolbachik began erupting on 27 November. In the area of the southern slope has two fractured breakthrough emission of lava. The lava flow from the top break was more than six kilometers from the bottom — 18 kilometers. Periodically over Tolbachik ash column rises.

"Seismic in a powerful volcanic eruption recorded spasmodic tremor. At night there is the glow of the lava flow," — said in a statement.

According to scientists, Flat Tolbachik eruption occurs as usual, somewhat less than in the early days. Devastating explosions at the volcano is not happening. As a result, emissions of steam mixed with the neighborhood of the volcano for many kilometers are covered with fine volcanic ash. The air in the area of the eruption is saturated with sulfur dioxide.

The last eruption of the volcano Tolbachik called Great Tolbachik Fissure Eruption, occurred in 1975-1976 and was the first in the history of Russian science, predicted with complete accuracy. The eruption changed the topography of the surrounding area was the cause of a local ecological disaster, which killed all living at a distance of tens of kilometers from the volcano.

Tolbachik consists of two volcanoes — Flat Tolbachik (3.085 thousand meters altitude) and acute Tolbachik (3.682 thousand meters). The nearest town — City Keys — removed from the foot of the volcano 60 kilometers.
