State Statistics Committee of Ukraine recorded a rise in births in January-May 2012 in all regions of the country. "In January-May 2012 were born in Ukraine, 208.3 thousand children, 13.9 thousand more than in the corresponding period last year", — stated in the report of the State Statistics.
According to the Statistical Office, the birth rate has increased from 10.3 to 11.0 births per one thousand population.
According to the State Statistics Service, the number of deaths decreased by 2.7 thousand people, or 15, 5 to 15.3 deaths per one thousand population.
"The decline in the death rate of the population was registered in 14 regions. Most reduced mortality in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Zaporizhia region and Sevastopol. Decreased mortality of children under 1 year (from 8.8 to 8.7 deaths per one thousand live births)," — noted in the message.
Increased population in the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, Transcarpathian, Volyn, Kyiv and Rivne regions. "The absolute increase in population in the Kiev region and the city of Sevastopol in recent years there has been for the first time" — emphasizes the State Statistics Committee.
