The food on the plane. How is this done? (PHOTOS)

— Tea, coffee and water? Want to eat?
This phrase we hear every time a few tens of minutes after take-off the aircraft in the sky at the time of the next trip, business trip or just a trip on his personal affairs.
On one flight offers sandwich with coffee, on the other — a complete meal including a hot second, fruit and dessert with coffee (more on this recently wrote Learn alexcheban in its post).
Each airline food comes to the question of passengers during the flight on its own.
Some are prepared onboard meals themselves, others order catering at the airport.
Interestingly, in Russia only two airlines prepare food for their passengers — is Aeroflot and UTair. The rest of the "buy" ready-made food.
Today we will visit one of the factories catering UTair, which is located in the airport of Surgut, and their eyes shall see which way are lunch-boxes and kasaletki with dinner, served us a smiling flight attendant at an altitude of 10,000 meters.

2. Airline Yuteyt has three factories catering — at airports Surgut, Tyumen and Khanty-Mansiysk. Here the food is cooked for all flights UTair airlines, as well as for other airlines flying out of the cities.
Contrary to the notion that there is need to prepare food for all its flights airlines wherever and wherever they flew, actually it does not. Why? Because the life of the cooked food is very limited. But more on that below

3. Factory catering in Surgut consists of several departments, each of which is an intermediate link in the chain of supply of the product the way to sealing food container before being loaded into the plane.
One of the main shops — meat and fish. Here is cutting meat or fish and their preparation for the subsequent heat treatment. Part of it goes directly into the hot shop, and some — in the freezing treatment at another time.

4. Next to the meat and fish shop is a vegetable. Here is a preparation and cleaning of vegetables (potatoes, carrots, onions, etc.) for onward transmission to the hot shop, as well as the finalization of certain vegetables (cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, etc.) and fruit for packing in lunch boxes.
For change through this workshop runs more than 100 kilograms of potatoes alone.

5. The bread on the board replaces bun. They, along with cakes and other flour products are baked in a candy shop.
On the day here is baked over 1,000 rolls, each of which holds in the oven exactly 18 minutes

Here, it will all be laid out on plastic containers
in accordance with the right set of products for a particular flight, the marking, packed in sealed trucks and aircraft to transfer to board the plane.

20. And affix the label — the flight number, destination, departure date and time, as well as the cooking time.
At this point I would like to highlight a number of interesting features.
All the food is cooked at the factory, has the shelf life of three hours. If since the package was more than time — it is destroyed.
That is, if the flight is delayed flight number 296 for more than 30 minutes, the container is opened, the food is destroyed, and on the plane load the kasaletki and lunch boxes, packed later.
But, basically, everything is done so quickly that the food is not idle. Usually, if the departure of the plane is delayed for a long time, this is known in advance, so lunch is collected to the actual time of departure.
Also worth noting is that for every 50 passengers on board loaded 1 extra set of supplies. That is, if the flight sold 150 tickets, plane plunge 153 dinner.
Simultaneously, the board charged with several kinds of menu for economy class passengers in equal proportions — for example, fish with rice, beef with buckwheat and sausage with pasta. During the flight attendant asks about what kind of menu you desire.

21. In addition to ready-made food packages for loading on board the aircraft are also trained reusable utensils for business class passengers.
Its amount depends on the amount sold in this class on a particular flight tickets.
