Ventspils covered Heavy rain: flooded the school and the museum

Morning of September 1 to Ventspils struck a powerful storm, which was accompanied by heavy rains, according to the Latvian Center for the Environment, Geology and Meteorology.
A few hours shed 59 mm of rain per square meter, which is about a 15-day norm, LETA was informed by the Latvian Centre of Ventspils Station Environment, Geology and Meteorology.

According to the press center of the State Fire and Rescue Service, rainfall has flooded a number of educational institutions of the city and the museum. The situation was normalized only after lunch.

In GPSS explained that the shower thoroughly flooded 1st primary school: in the basement, closet or other part of the building the water level was a few tens of centimeters.

In the 6th high school Ventspils flooded wardrobes and storage.

Element is not spared, and Castle of the Livonian Order (Exposition), so the museum staff had to urgently move the exhibits.

More heavy rain on Thursday morning went to the north of Ventspils in Ovishragsa.

Storm in the Irbe Strait began on Wednesday night, weather forecasters say. As a result of heavy rains covered the northern part of Courland. In other regions of Latvia, the Day of Knowledge was intermittent rain, while in some areas Zemgale and Kurzeme sun shone.
