Earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred in Costa Rica

 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred on Wednesday in Costa Rica, according to the U.S. Geological Survey website.

Earthquakes have been recorded at 14 kilometers from the city of Nicoya at a depth of 35 kilometers. No casualties or damage until the information has been received.

Costa Rica is located in a seismically active part of Central America, and fluctuations in the Earth's crust is happening quite often. The devastating earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred in Costa Rica in January 2009. Then the tremors have been recorded only 35 kilometers from the capital — the city of San Jose. Element has claimed the lives of at least 34 people, dozens of people were missing. The earthquake completely destroyed 518 houses, 26 kilometers of roads and eight bridges.
