Specialists involved in a conservation of fish stocks, evaluate the situation with the death of fish in the river Balta in the Novosibirsk region, which came after the oil leak from the pipeline in 2008, told RIA Novosti on Monday, deputy chief of the Upper Ob basin fisheries management Upadyshev Eugene.
Death of fish in the river have found social activists, environmentalists who are trying different ways to prove the impact has not yet been eliminated. They came on March 15 in a place where there was an oil spill, and a chainsaw sawed ice on the river to the bottom, to take samples of water and soil.
"Sawing the ice, we came across a layer of dead fish. This layer width of about 40-50 centimeters. Fish there, as in the barrel pressed to. There are carp, carp, perch," — said the agency is one of the volunteers, Nikolai Kuznetsov.
Activists have made video from that leaked online. On the video you can see how the dead fish removed from the river with a shovel.
"Tomorrow, or, at least, the next day go to the place of experts. They will assess the situation," — said Upadyshev.
According to him, will be determined scale death of fish and draw conclusions about the possible causes of death.
"We need to look at the thickness of the ice, the thickness of the water layer. Quite possible that the water layer was very small for the fish, and it does not have enough oxygen," — said the source.
He noted that if the river are really oil, it also could partially affect the fish kill.
Upadyshev added that the Novosibirsk region is unfavorable regions by the "winter zamornosti fish" because the local waterways in the winter much frozen. "Kill phenomena observed almost everywhere in our waters. Magnitude different (fish kill on different bodies of water)," — he said.

Leakage from Omsk-Irkutsk pipeline, owned by OAO "Transsibneft" ("daughter" of "Transneft"), occurred in 2008 in the district of the Novosibirsk region Moszkowski. According to the company, the total amount of oil spilled was 7 cubic meters, of which 1 cubic meter was in Balta, a small river, and the rest were collected and pumped back into the pipeline. Environmental damage is estimated at more than 4.2 million rubles.
According to "Transneft", experts subsidiary "Transsibneft" more than 20 months eliminates the effects of leakage of hydrocarbons. In particular, the shoreline of the river Balta was cleared of trees and shrubs, regularly engages in its treatment of the oil, collecting snow and ice, contaminated oil, catching oil film on the water surface.
Natural Resources Department of the Novosibirsk region before officially declared that the water in the river near Balta leak completely suitable for agriculture and fisheries work. Land in the neighborhood of the pipeline is also fully suitable for conducting horticultural work, officials said. However, independent environmentalists and local residents, as well as prosecutors continue to insist that the oil remains in the place where there was a leak from the pipeline.
In spring 2011, the district prosecutor's office Moszkowski said suit against "Transsibneft" in the Central district court of Novosibirsk demanding to oblige oil companies to "clean up and neutralize the territory of the old river bed Balta from petroleum." Lawyers' Transsibneft "in court argued that, according to their data, the effects of the oil spill have been completely eliminated, and they do not see the object to the proceedings.
The district court upheld the oil and refused to require prosecutors, citing "insufficient evidence" to satisfy its claim.
However, on 21 February this year, the Novosibirsk regional court at the request of prosecutors reversed a lower court. The case was sent for review, which has not yet begun.
