Heavy rains disrupted power supply in the capital of Argentina

Heavy rains severely disrupted subway and public transport in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires, a few hundred people were evacuated in several areas of broken power supply, reported Monday by local authorities.

Downpours and strong wind began in the Argentine capital and its suburbs on Sunday night and lasted until Monday morning. Element caused the most damage in La Matanza, Avellaneda, Lanús and Quilmes. According to preliminary reports, one person was killed.

Due to flooding in the streets was disrupted two lines of the Moscow metro, and two lines of suburban trains. On the roads formed huge traffic jams, bus service could not cope with then passengers. Road conditions began to improve only to 12.00 Monday (19:00 MSK).

Departures at the international airport implemented with delays. In some areas of the city and suburbs electricity has not been restored.

According to forecasters, only in the period from three in the morning to six in the morning (from 10 to 13 MSK) in the city has dropped at least 70 mm of rain. Meteorologists predict that the rains and strong winds with a few interruptions continue until Tuesday.
