According to the experts, the period from 2000 to 2012 was quite favorable for the development of farmers' movement as a whole in the country and in the Ulyanovsk region: there was a noticeable increase in the number of farms, farmers increased the area of cultivated land.
Thus, over the last five years, the production of major agricultural products in farms area has doubled. According to statistics, the Ulyanovsk farmers produce 15.3% of the total volume of grain grown in the region, 15.9% of sunflower, 28.8% of sugar beet. Some progress has been achieved in the livestock industry: the production of milk on farms in the past five years has increased by 2.6 times, meat — by 1.9 times, eggs — twice.
