Spaniards first purchased more bicycles than cars

Spaniards first bought in 2012, more bicycles than cars. Analysts attribute this situation to the economic crisis, because of which at least a quarter of the population is unemployed, according to The Times.

 

Last year, the Spaniards gained 700 thousand vehicles, which is 31.4% less than in 2011. It was bought by 780 thousand bikes, which is 4% higher than the sales level of 2011.

According to official statistics, at present, 56% of Spaniards aged 18 to 24 are unemployed. Many of them prefer bikes due to their low cost compared with cars.
