Suborbital spacecraft for the first time started the engine

The company Virgin Galactic announced the first successful test of the suborbital spacecraft SpaceShipTwo rocket motor with. The test flight began at 7:02 am local time, when SpaceShipTwo took off from an airfield in the Mojave Desert with the carrier aircraft WhiteKnightTwo. At an altitude of about 14 km in 45 minutes in the air SpaceShipTwo separated from his aircraft carrier. After that, the pilots for the first time included a rocket, SpaceShipTwo and rose to a height of 16.7 km. The engine has been running for 16 seconds, as planned.
