Flooding takes down the big cities in the Philippines

Continuous rainfall over the eastern coast of the island of Mindanao in the Philippines triggered flooding. Flooded about 90% of Cotabato — one of the largest cities of the island.

Precipitation plagued Mindanao last three weeks. Dropped out of the sky was filled with water 11 rivers in the region and pushed the river banks. Element has claimed the lives of 5 people, destroyed hundreds of homes. Authorities are conducting emergency evacuation of people from the flooded area.

Five people drowned, four of them in North Cotabato and one person in Davao del Norte, while the two men in Jolo, Sulu were injured. Around 3,000 families were taken to evacuation centers Philippines ..

A total of 12,038 affected families (or 611,196 people) in nine provinces in the northern and central part of Mindanao in the Philippines.
