Collapse of buildings in Indonesia because of failure of the soil. Picture story

In Surabaya — the second largest city in Indonesia — about a dozen houses suddenly collapsed or rift on Saturday at 2:30 am, due to erosion of the soil next to the nearby river.

According to local residents, they are living there since 1974 and have never seen anything like it. The incident resulted in several people were injured, the victims managed to escape, according to demotix.com
