Lukashenko ordered to halve the funding of government programs

Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov said the Government's plans to reduce by 50 percent the existing government programs. The minister referred to Alexander Lukashenko:

"The President has set the task to begin with the review of government programs to reduce their funding by 50% for achieving the same results," — said Snapkou at a briefing in Minsk.

The minister stressed that "the Ministry of Economy and the government are talking about reducing social programs — will be reduced funding for programs in the real economy."

Government programs are financed from the budget. These include programs of rural development, innovation development, overcoming the consequences of the Chernobyl accident and a bunch of others.
