Testing of new engines for military aircraft completed in Ukraine

KIEV, July 1 — RIA Novosti, Alain Mate. Testing of new engines for the aircraft Ukrainian army successfully completed at the Zaporozhye plant "Motor Sich", according to the press service of the Ministry of Defence.

 

According to defense officials, the company successfully completed the state benchmark tests of modern turboshaft engine TV3-117VMA SBM1V-4E series for the Mi-8T. Active participation in the trials took military testers State Research and Test Center of Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Public bench testing was the final stage of a complete audit cycle engine. "Moreover, their success has been the basic requirement for presentation of the modernized Mi-8MSB on state tests in the interests of the Defense Ministry, which will begin soon," — said in a statement.

 

Bench tests were supervised by the Commission of the Ministry of Defence.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the engine showed reliable performance, pleased stability during heavy and critical modes.

"The bench tests were successful, the main technical data of the motor comply with the requirements of the technical problem. This means that the engine can now be recommended for adoption by the supply and to run in serial production", — said the deputy head of the State Research and Test Center of Ukrainian Armed Forces Vladimir Bashi.

At the initial stage of the new engines will be needed in Ukraine in the first place by helicopters and special military use.
