The prosecutor's office sent a Mencki Minsk City Court criminal case against ex-presidential candidates, political prisoners Statkevich and Dmitri Uss.
This was reported by the Interfax news agency. "The prosecutor's office of Minsk today to determine the territorial jurisdiction sent criminal case on charges Statkevich and Uss under Part 1 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of Belarus ("Riots)," — said the agency "Interfax" a senior assistant prosecutor of Minsk Sergei Balashov.
Statkevich and Uss are accused of organizing mass riots on December 19 last year. Both politicians face up to 15 years in prison.
In the court also directed the materials for the most active, as they are called in the police, participants in the riots: Alexander Kvyatkevicha, Dmitri Bulanov, Andrew Pozniak, Artem Gribkova, accused of committing an offense under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code, and Alexander Klaskouski, the accused under Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 293 (organization and participation in mass disorders), Art. 369 (insulting a government official) and Art. 382 of the Criminal Code (unauthorized conferment of power or official).
