The EU welcomes the accession of a number of countries for sanctions against Belarusian officials

"The European Union welcomes the decision of countries outside the EU to accede to the decision of the Council of the EU to expand the list of Belarusian officials, which are subject to restrictive measures", — reported in the EU mission in Belarus.

The sanctions have joined the EU:

  • Croatia
  • The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
  • Montenegro
  • Islyandyya
  • Albania Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Serbiya
  • Liechtenstein
  • Norway

"These countries supported the decision of the European Council of 21 March this year. This decision expands the list of Belarusian officials, in respect of which the Council of the EU restrictive measures have been applied, "- the Interfax at the dealership.

"The introduction of restrictive measures as a response to the EU's suppression of mass protests that occurred after the presidential election in Belarus on December 19 2010"- Reminded there.
