Caspian Flotilla received the-horizon radar Sunflower

The commander of the Caspian Flotilla Sergei Alekminsky November 3 in an interview with radio station "Echo of Moscow" said the supply of new equipment. According to him: "We put the station" Sunflower ", now to be finished work on its launch". In addition, the commander recalled the immediate past, the armament division fleet missile complex "Ball", which will soon be complemented with another set. Alekminsky did not rule out the emergence in the fleet of midget submarines without specifying their purpose, and also talked about plans to obtain the fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles to search for various objects.

"Sunflower-E" — an all-weather coastal surface wave over-the-horizon radar (BZGR) short-range, intended for the control of surface and air situation within a 200-mile economic zone of the coastal State in the coastal systems (NPK "NIIDAR").

The station provides an interface to a variety of consumers and the release of information on mating systems and command centers in a digital form. Radar equipment and parts antennas are transported by road, rail and sea transport. The complex is built in container form, and its installation and placement of the equipment is provided at pre-arranged locations.

Radar "Sunflower-E" provides the detection and tracking beyond the radio horizon of sea and air objects, determine their coordinates and output them on target indication, automatic detection of the motion parameters and the type of objects pointing to them capabilities and other tasks. BZGR "Sunflower-E" consists of antenna-feeder devices, transmitting and receiving stations and a computer system to be placed in two locations coast, spaced apart at a distance of 0.5-3.5 km. Pairing with information users place over telephone, satellite links.

BZGR "Sunflower-E" decameter wave band provides the observation of objects in an area with angular coordinates 110-120 and 0-30 degrees. in azimuth and elevation, respectively, at a distance of 15-300 km. The maximum detection range of sea surface and air targets, depending on the tonnage and altitude of 200-300 km and 150-300 km, while the number of tracked objects — up to 100.
