Ust-Srednekanskaya plant — being built hydroelectric power station on the Kolyma River is the second stage in the Kolyma HPP. It is located 9 kilometers from the mouth of the river Srednekan, a tributary of the Kolyma. Construction of Ust-Srednekanskoy plant started in 1991. Design and construction documents developed by JSC "Lengidroproekt." Installed capacity 570 MW (4 hydraulic capacity of 142.5 MW each).
The first start-up complex with capacity 169 MW includes the construction of waterworks station to reach 260.0 m (level downstream 231-234 m, depending on the hydrological conditions in Kolyma), and putting into operation of two hydroelectric units with temporary impellers Francis turbines. The first units will stand under the load station in December this year. Completion of the Ust-Srednekanskoy plant is planned in 2017.
Hydraulic structures HPS include stone and earthen dam and spillway, station and blank concrete dam and powerhouse dam type. The total length of the waterfront is about 2.5 kilometers. Upon acceptance of the waterfront, will begin filling the reservoir, which in turn will have an area of 265 km ², and a total storage capacity respectively 5.4 and 2.6 km ². In the flood zone does not fit one location.
Through the construction of the first stage, in Ust-Srednekanskoy hydroelectric power plant installation continues in the engine room station. The GA number 1 mounted rotor spider, is an installation of the upper bearing of the generator. The GA number 2 is assembled crossing. Began installation of equipment complete switchgear (GIS 220), laid 220 kV cable connecting the switchgear and power transformers. The building is going on PTC finishing, as well as installation of electrical equipment, ventilation systems, heat and water. Is being concreted foundations and walls of sewage treatment plant and fire station for two cars. In addition, the continued installation of auxiliary equipment and technological systems, as well as work on the foundation and installation of supports power lines of 220 kV "Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP substation Orotukan."
