Kostroma: the first pre-school unit for children with disabilities

The first regional office for pre-school children with disabilities was opened on the basis of the kindergarten number 69 in Kostroma — the representative of the city administration.

Municipal kindergarten number 69 Kostroma became the first pre-school institution in the region, implemented a program where the inclusive education of children with disabilities. The pilot project "Special Child" in a kindergarten group opened a short stay for children with disabilities, with different developmental disorders of the musculoskeletal system, as well as lekoteka — a system of psychological and pedagogical support for families caring for children with developmental problems.

"Lekoteka organized for children who can not attend pre-school for health or development, but are in need of psychological, educational, medical and social support and assistance", — said the official.

He said that the project is designed to stay together parents and children in a kindergarten for two hours a week to the socialization of children and provide skilled care for families with disabled children. The children will be held Play therapy sessions, training in emotional stress. Here, families with disabled children will be able to get the help of the psychologist, social educator, podiatrist, speech therapy, and even a lawyer. Now kindergarten is open 13 groups who attends 321 children, including 17 children, have the status of a "child with a disability."
