The refinancing rate of the National Bank of Belarus to April 20, 2011 increased from 12 to 13 per cent per annum. BelTA learned from the information department of the National Bank.

Increasing the refinancing rate and, consequently, interest rates on deposits Belarusian rubles will provide an additional measure to maintain a positive real value of money market interest rates and stimulate the flow of savings into banks.
The National Bank will continue to support and further the level of interest rates, ensuring the safety and attractiveness of ruble deposits of individuals and organizations in the banks, as well as strengthening financial stability, taking into account the development of external and internal economic processes noted in the information department of the National Bank.
Recall the last time the refinancing rate of the National Bank of Belarus increased 16 March 2011and by 1.5 percentage points to 12 per cent per annum.
