The cruiser Peter the Great began the long march to the Arctic

Today the heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser (TARKR) Northern Fleet (NF) "Peter the Great" out of the main base of the Northern Fleet Severomorsk and headed in the direction of the White and Kara Seas.

TARKR crew, commanded by captain Vladislav Malakhovsky have to make the long march in the Arctic regions of the Northern Sea Route area where the ship will perform a variety of combat training tasks envisaged in the plan of combat training.

"Peter the Great" — the only one in the Russian Navy is in building a heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser, the third generation of a series of project 1144 "eagle". In 1996, the cruiser was running tests and mezhflotsky made the transition from the Baltic Sea to the main base of the Northern Fleet — Severomorsk.
