MOSCOW, November 23 — RIA Novosti. Earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred in the northern part of Chile, according to the U.S. Geological Survey website.
The epicenter of earthquakes that occurred in 22.43 local time Tuesday (04.43 MSK medium), was 103 kilometers south-east of the city of Calama, the earthquake lies at a depth of 141.2 kilometers.
No casualties or damage were reported. No tsunami threat.
At the end of February 2010 in Chile by an earthquake of magnitude 8.8 and ensuing tsunami killed more than 500 people. The country is located in a zone of the Pacific "fire zone" where 85% of all recorded earthquakes in the world.
