In the mountains of the Vrancea earthquakeTiraspol, October 04 (New Region, Olga Kuryleva) — In eastern Romania on October 4 at 5:40 am there was an earthquake of magnitude 4.7 points, the correspondent of "New Region".
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter was located 130 kilometers north of Bucharest, in Vrancea mountain range — the most earthquake-prone areas of Romania. The earthquake lies at a depth of 128.4 km.
A short push of approx 3 — 3.5 points well there in Chisinau, much weaker — in Tiraspol. Emergency services from Romania and Moldova on casualties or damage were reported.
According to the Center of Experimental Seismology Institute of Geology and Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, from September 27 to 10 have been the Vrancea earthquakes up to 2.9 on the Richter scale.
Recent notable earthquakes in the Carpathian mountain range Vrancea were recorded May 1 (4.7 points) and 16 September (3.5).
Earlier tangible tremors in the region were recorded May 7, 2008, April 25, 2009. The strongest earthquake in recorded March 4, 1977, August 31, 1986 (7 — 8 points at the center) and 30 — 31 May 1990 (6 — 7 points).
