Kursk region in I quarter has doubled the production of meat

Meat production in the Kursk region in January-March 2013 reached 55 million tons, accounting for 193.8% of the corresponding period last year, according to the Information and Press Committee of the regional administration. The main producers of meat are agricultural companies — they produced 47.8 thousand tons, which is 2.3 times more than in January-March last year.

Thus, according to the committee, more than 68% of pork production. As a result of complexes of the number of pigs in the region has increased by 2.2 times and amounted to 832.5 thousand.
