Magnitude 4 earthquake occurred near the capital of Tuva

Magnitude 4 earthquake occurred on Sunday afternoon in Tuva, information on injuries or damage, according to the Altai-Sayan Branch of Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 occurred in Tuva 15.16 local time (11.16 MSK), its energy class of 11.2", — the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The epicenter of earthquake was located near Kyzyl, at coordinates 51.72 degrees north latitude and 96.19 degrees east longitude.

Increased attention to the seismic situation in Tuva due to have taken place in the region, two strong earthquakes. The first — a magnitude 6.7 with intensity of 9.8 — occurred Dec. 27, 2011 in the Kaa-Khem district of the republic, 100 kilometers east of Kyzyl at a depth of 10 kilometers. Approximately in the same epicenter second earthquake of magnitude 7.6, which occurred in the February 26, 2012. Toll of both earthquakes was not.
