MMK increases its supply automakers

In 2011, for supply of CMI to the auto companies operating in Russia increased by 13.5% compared to 2010 (to $ 461 thousand tons). Thus in 2011 by 0.6%, the share of the automotive industry in the structure of shipments of "MMK" on the Russian domestic market.

Currently, CMI is actively developing new products for the automotive industry. The enterprise has adopted and implemented a program of metal acceptance of "MMK" in Russian and foreign automakers, according to which the work on the approval of the technical processes and products from the world's leading enterprise (Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Volkswagen Renault-Nissan, Huindai-Kia ) and Russian (JSC "AvtoVAZ") automakers. In addition, the program covers the acceptance of parts manufacturers operating in the territory of Russia. The largest consumers of MMK among the automotive industry are "AvtoVAZ", "KAMAZ" GAZ Group. They may soon join the company Ford.

Experts of the company Ford, and its Russian subsidiary — Ford Sollers, in March expressed interest in cooperation with CMI at the final meeting on the results of the technical audit conducted by experts of the European Mission Ford for CMI.

According to the chief specialist on the approval of materials Ford of Europe Tonnessena Alberta, now metal of "MMK" is one of the stages of approval — laboratory tests of the samples. The next step will be the production tests are directly at the company's Ford.

"Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works" is one of the world's largest steel producers and is a leader among Russia's steel industry. One of the strategic objectives of CMI in the short term is to turn the company into a leading supplier of steel products for the Russian automotive industry. To solve this problem, MMK completes construction of modern cold rolling mill comprising 2000. The metallurgical complex output of 2 million tons per year will provide a high-quality automotive cold rolled and galvanized sheet, including high-strength grades of steel. In July 2011 came into operation the first phase of the complex — the camp in 2000, combined with a line etching. In the summer of 2012 scheduled to start the second phase of the complex.
