Ukraine wants to conclude negotiations on the Russian Black Sea Fleet in 2012

DOD Ukraine waiting for the end of negotiations to prepare an agreement with Russia on how to modernize the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea until the end of 2012, said the first deputy minister of defense of Ukraine Alexander Oleinik.

"I think that by the end of this year, the process will be completed," — he said to journalists at a press briefing on Wednesday.
According to him, talks lasting and very fruitful.

Agreement on the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the territory Ukraine in 2010 it was extended to 2042 soon after the president Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych defeated at the polls. But the issues related to updating the combat strength of the fleet, the introduction of Sevastopol berths and taxation of products supplied from the Russian Federation to the needs of the Black Sea Fleet, had not been fully settled.

Ukrainian side raises the issue of compensation for the introduction of 38 moorings in Sevastopol, not included, according to the management of the town, to the intergovernmental agreement Criteria for rent. Our homeland has to wait for the results of the inventory of objects used by Russian sailors — it holds a joint subcommittee on the Black Sea, part of the Interstate Commission, which is chaired by the President and Ukraine.
