National Bank stopped giving currency to purchase drugs?

The National Bank of Belarus does not comment about the suspension of sales of foreign currency on the exchange at the official exchange rate for the purchase of medicines. Previously, such information disseminated agency "Reuters".

"Reuters" referred to a source close to the National Bank. The government supposedly concerned about the sharp increase in purchases of foreign currency at the exchange to pay for medicines.

"The National Bank does not confirm or deny this information," — said the spokesman BelaPAN — Head of Information of the main bank of the country, Anatoly Drozdov. However, he stressed that the application for the sale of foreign currency for the purchase of medicines and other critical imports of payment are met at the exchange in full.

Meanwhile the official exchange rate of the U.S. dollar by the end of trading on May 5 down 6 rubles to 3001 rubles.
