The Russian Defense Ministry has concluded with the Corporation "Irkut" contract to supply the troops 30 new Su-30cm, reports "Interfax" referring to the press service of the Defense Ministry. Under the agreement, the aircraft will be built by 2015. The contract signed by Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov and President of "Irkut" Alexei Fedorov. Transaction amount was not specified.
In mid-August 2011 it was reported that the Corporation "Irkut" in the next few years, the Ministry of Defense to supply 40 Su-30cm, which will then be transferred to the Air Force and Navy Russia. "Deliveries of these aircraft are defined by the state program of armaments in 2013. I do not exclude that in the next year, we will deliver the first couple of machines to complete the state tests, and in 2013, I hope, will start serial deliveries of the aircraft," — said Fedorov.
It was planned that in 2012 the Ministry of Defense of Russia will sign a contract to supply 28 Su-30cm, and the remaining 12 aircraft included in the agreement as an option.
Purchase of new fighter aircraft produced in the Russian state armaments program for 2011-2020, funding for which was set at 23 trillion rubles. The document stipulates the purchase of 28 Su-30cm for the Russian Air Force, and 12 of these aircraft for naval aviation. Earlier it was reported that 12 Su-30cm will be part of the Black Sea Fleet Aviation and replace the old frontline bombers Su-24. The aircraft will be based at the airport Guards in the Crimea.
Su-30cm is a modification of the Su-30MKI, standing on the Indian Air Force.
