Coastal troops of the Northern Fleet for the first time in the history of the Russian Navy marines landed on unequipped coast Boiler, chief of department of information support of the press service of the Western Military District of the Northern Fleet Captain 1st Rank Vadim Serga.

According to Sergei, the landing was carried out on board the large landing ship "Alexander Otrakovsky" by the crawler transporter floating PTS-M.

"Combat training marines in these high northern latitudes was carried out in the framework of the inter-service command and staff exercise of the Western Military Region for the protection of the national interests of Russia in the Arctic", — he said.

One of the main purposes of the doctrine was to test the readiness of commando units in coastal forces of the Northern Fleet to perform security tasks from remote scientific research, industrial and energy facilities, which are separately located in different regions of the Arctic.

On a successful amphibious operation unit commander of the Northern Fleet Marines Captain Alexander Anoufriev submitted to the command of the state award — Users Suvorov. Two more Marines are to be awarded medals Defense Ministry, said Sergey.
