The number of victims of the earthquake in northwest China has risen to 34 people, according to the Associated Press Saturday, citing local media.
Earthquakes have been recorded in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region earlier on Saturday. The U.S. Geological Survey estimated the magnitude 6.3 quake, the local geological services — 6.6.
Previously reported 24 victims, now received information that their number is 34.
According to reports, the earthquake resulted in damage and the collapse of several buildings in the settlements located 300 kilometers from the regional capital, Urumqi. Several villages were left without electricity.
