Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred in the Ryukyu archipelago

Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred on Thursday near the Japanese Ryukyu Islands, the website of the U.S. Geological Survey.

Earthquakes have been recorded at 08.45 local time (02.45 MSK), 70 kilometers south-east of the city of Naha — the administrative center of the Ryukyu Prefecture at a depth of one kilometer.

Information about the destruction and the threat of a tsunami has been reported.
