Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred in the southern Philippines

Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred on Monday in the southern Philippines, according to the U.S. Geological Survey website.

According to seismologists, the epicenter of the earthquake was located off the coast of the island of Mindanao, 26 kilometers south of the town of Mati. Earthquakes have been recorded at 05.45 local time (01.45 MSK). Hearth lies at a depth of 56 kilometers.

No casualties or damage were reported, messages about the threat of a tsunami also been reported.

Mindanao these days is trying to cope with the consequences of the devastating typhoon "Pablo", hit the Philippines last week.
