Five earthquakes occurred in Kamchatka

As five earthquakes with a magnitude of 2 to 6, 6 points, occurred on Monday, February 21, at the eastern coast of Kamchatka in the Far East of Russia, — the port Sibnovosti.

The first impulse, the magnitude of which was 6.6, recorded on Monday night, 45 km south-east of Shiveluch volcano at a depth of 104.5 kilometers. The epicenter of the second earthquake was located in the Gulf of Kamchatka at a depth of 55.9 kilometers.

"The epicenter of the first and most powerful of the earthquake was at a depth of 48 kilometers. From the center of the region, the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, he was removed for 400 kilometers, "- said the representative of the Kamchatka Branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Nearest to the epicenter of the earthquake locations — Keys and Krutoberegovo Ust-Kamchatka region — clearance of about 50 kilometers. According to local residents, tremors were felt there with force 3 — 4 points.

In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, far from the epicenter at 400 kilometers to the south of the earthquake ground motion responded force 2-3 points.

"Despite the force of the earthquake, housing and social facilities district prevailed. No destruction, no people have been hurt, "- told RIA Novosti the administration of Ust-Kamchatka region. The threat of a tsunami is not declared.
