The first step of designing the ship ended in April this year; DCNS managed to secure a modified craft project. Immediately after which began the second step. According to DCNS, the size of hangars "Mistral" will be increased, so that they could fit in the deck Ka-Ka-29K and 52K, made by coaxial scheme. In addition, the helicopter for RF will be built with the operation in the Arctic region — they will get extra energy systems for heating different parts of the deck.
All systems and equipment on board the ship will be Russified. On the "Mistral" will be installed Russian and French equipment, control and communications; DCNS will need to ensure compatibility of systems. Part of such equipment will be installed on ship at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, a part — on one of the Russian shipyards. In addition, in Saint-Nazaire ship under construction will receive Russian fire control system.
According DCNS, "Mistral" to receive the RF gun mounts AK-630 30-mm in front of the starboard and into the back of the ship to port. Anti-aircraft missile launchers 3M47 "Bending" accommodate ahead to starboard and back — on the left. DCNS will prepare a place for the weapons, while themselves fighting systems will be installed on ship already in.
As a primary surveillance radar on the Russian "Mistral" will be used French radar Thales MRR-3D-NG, working in the G-band. These radars are on 3-helicopter-type "Mistral" in the French Navy. As expected, DCNS will transmit RF first ship of "Mistral"-" Vladivostok "- in 2014, and the second -" Sevastopol "- in 2015.
Our homeland and France signed an agreement for the supply of 2-helicopter "Mistral" in June 2011. Price agreements amounted to 1.2 billion euros. In addition, the parties entered into an option to build another 2-such ships in Russia. The respective contract is expected to be signed in late 2012 — early 2013.
Construction of the first "Mistral" of the French assembly began February 1, 2012 at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire. First Russian helicopter assembly is expected to be laid Oct. 1, 2012. Cutting metal for the second "Mistral" Russian production is scheduled for May 2013.
