Scientists: the current earthquake in Japan are the most dangerous depths

Pockets of powerful earthquakes occurring off the east coast today, the Japanese island of Honshu, at a depth of 24 to 35 kilometers below the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
"This is the most dangerous of the depth at which the case of strong shocks occur catastrophic wave", — the expert Sakhalin Tsunami Warning Center. If the earthquake foci lie at depths of 400-500 kilometers, on the surface, they would not have felt.

Two minutes later the tsunami could reach Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and at 12:03 (Moscow time) — Copper Island (Commander Islands).

A strong earthquake of magnitude 8.8 shook the now vast areas of central and north-eastern Japan, including Tokyo. The earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers below the bottom of the Pacific Ocean off Miyagi prefecture in the northeast of the main Japanese island of Honshu. Tremors continue. Japan announced a new tsunami warning. According to the city Kamaishi in Iwate prefecture in the northeast of the main Japanese island of Honshu struck wave height of 10 meters. There are reports of numerous destructions. No casualties yet reported.
