Several earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.6 occurred near Athens

Several earthquakes have occurred in the vicinity of Athens on Saturday, said the global monitoring of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

At a distance of about 88 kilometers south-west of Athens there were three tremors of magnitude 4.9 to 5.6, service reported.

Reports of property damage from earthquakes have been received.

In Greece — the most seismically active in the EU, there are about 90% of all European earthquakes.
