The Dnipropetrovsk will continue to develop the Cossacks

During the XVII session of the Regional Council, chaired by the head of the regional council Eugene Hoopoe with the Head of Alexander Vilkul, the deputies decided to extend the term of the Program of development of Ukrainian Cossacks in the Dnipropetrovsk region until 2017.

As part of the first phase of the program, which is being implemented in the field in 2008-2012, was drafted buffer zone of the monument of national importance "Tomb Cossack chieftain Ivan Sirko," which this year is fixed by the Cabinet of Ministers, next to the memorial complex built a chapel and watchtower Tower, conducted numerous festivals and competitions in Cossack history and traditions; funded scientific search work to identify sites associated with the history of the Cossacks. Among the activities of the second phase of the program approved during the current session — the organization of extracurricular Cossack circles, the creation of museums, rooms and exhibits of Cossack glory in secondary schools and institutions of culture, development and implementation in the field of special education curriculum on the history of Ukrainian Cossacks, combat and labor traditions of the Ukrainian people.

Also, as part of plans to create documentaries and movies on the history of the Cossacks and the events of the Cossack era, the organization of scientific conferences and round tables on the history and development of the Ukrainian Cossacks, the creation of an electronic resource, "Cossacks Dnepropterovschiny", an illustrated edition of the museum catalog "in the collection of ancient Cossack in the collection of the Dnipropetrovsk National History Museum. D. Yavornitsky. " Total funding for the second phase of the program is 1.5 million USD.
