According to the Australian National Seismological Service, the first tremors of magnitude 5.1 have been recorded on the islands of Santa Cruz, a small state-owned Solomon Islands. They were felt within a radius of 186 km. Hearth lies at a depth of 88 km.

A second earthquake of magnitude 5.4 has affected Samoa, Tonga and Kermadec. Tremors were felt in a radius of 251 km.

No casualties or damage were reported.
