British Minister for Europe David Lidington has expressed concern about the verdict and Andrei Sannikov declared solidarity with political prisoners.
The press service of the British Embassy in Minsk, said that the Minister Lidington said:
"Mr. Sannikov is guilty only of trying to peacefully express their views on the results of rigged elections in December.
In our minds we are with the family of Mr Sannikov and with the families of the other defendants in this process: Ilya Vasilevich, Oleg Hnedchyk, Theodore and Vladimir Mirzayanava Eremenko, as well as many other families separated as a result of politically motivated process.
We again call on Belarus to give up using that same isolation and embark on the path of the main international standards of justice and Human Rights . "
