Former Air Force Commander Alexander Zelin become adviser to the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation

Past Commander of the Air Force Alexander Zelin, now dismissed from military service, will take the post of adviser to the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation on the construction and development of the Air Force, reported in Friday's press-service of Russian military.

"Col. Gen. Alexander Zelin, resigned in connection with the transition to the municipal civilian service as an assistant (EA) of the Minister of Defense Russian Federation for the construction and development of the Air Force," — said in a release.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Friday made a series of personnel changes in the high command of the armed forces. Namely, Medvedev unleashed Gen.-Colonel Alexander Zelin Air Force Commander of the post and fired him from military service. Another decree, he proclaimed Commander of the Army, Colonel-General Vladimir Chirkina, who previously served position Commander of the Central Military neighborhood. The same document Gen.-Col. Alexander Postnikov-Streltsov appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff.
