TSAMTO, March 28. U.S. Navy announced their intention to enter into agreements with 4 companies for the development of the project based on the nuclear aircraft carrier board shock-UAV reconnaissance UCLASS (Unmanned Carrier-Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike).

Preparatory inquiry placed on March 26, is the first step to ensure funding for the development of UAVs UCLASS. Full request may be placed this summer.
As planned, the unit will enter the carrier air group and significantly enhance its ability to conduct reconnaissance and strikes against targets. UAVs will do puzzles as without the help of others, and in collaboration with Air Group. The device will be operated by the crew of an aircraft carrier, and will allow to reduce operating costs compared with manned aircraft.
Creation of the first UAV UCLASS scheduled to begin in FY 2016 after selecting a favorite tender. According to the draft budget of the U.S. Navy, the Navy expects the UAV reaches the initial state of readiness for combat use by 2020. This means that by this time a squadron of 5-6 UCLASS UAVs will be ready to start flying from the aircraft carrier with its Carrier Air Wing. Yet, the unit will not participate in combat operations.
None of the companies involved in the project has not released details about the proposed UAV. Yet, all four manufacturers are developing UCLASS-like drones in the last decade. Namely, in recent years, «Northrop Grumman» has received a contract to build a demonstrator UAV shock X-47B aircraft carrier-based. «General Atomics» developed and began flight testing UAVs «Avenger» and «Lockheed Martin» developed the concept of unobtrusive UAV. «Boeing» also declared his readiness to fight for victory with one of your own projects.
